History:

It had been a lifelong dream of Kim’s to own a horse barn where kids could learn to ride and she could share her love of horses.

The Livery Horse Farm was established in 1992 when Kim and Scott bought the old Lavigne cow farm in Hinesburg, VT.

The barn was converted to a horse barn using wood from the silo. The out buildings were transformed into the hay barn, numerous horse run-ins, as well as, a chicken house and blacksmith shop.

Over the years, improvements have been made, and made again. All old fencing replaced, rewiring of the barn, enlarging the refooting the riding ring, and structural renovations of the barn while keeping the look of the authentic Vermont farm.

Kim’s Bio:

Kim has 25 years of experience teaching beginners through advanced riders in Hunter, Jumper and Equitation. Her focus is developing riders to become the best horse person they can be whether they choose to show, or ride for recreation. She has been drill team coach and also community advisor for CVU students.

Over the years, she has coached numerous children in shows and events ranging from Beginner 4H and VHSA, to Junior A circuit and NEHC.

Education & Certifications

Equine Studies AS with concentration in horsemanship, and stable and farm management from Cazenovia College.
