The Livery Horse Farm

CAMP DURING COVID-19

Camp will still happen. It will be a little different than previous years. We will be following the governor’s guidelines, so we will practice social distancing while at camp. We will be sanitizing all surfaces three times per day and will have installed more hand washing stations.

How does that look? Well, kids will be in ‘stations’ and assigned to a horse/pony. Kids will have in their stations: a bucket, brushes, and tack specific to them to use for the week.

Camps will be very small this year, which means enrollment will go very quickly. Kids will have more riding time this summer, so this camp is really for horse crazy kids! If you have already signed up, you are all set and early signups were at our “before Covid” rates. Given the current situation, we have had to raise rates slightly in order to stay afloat:

Camp Pricing:

            Days are split 8:00 – 12:00, 12:00 – 4:00, or choose both for a full day.

Prices are for 1 full week of camp (Monday – Friday)

            ½ day price: $350.00

            Full day price: $525.00

We will have three adults staffing this camp to ensure kids are maintaining proper social distancing and are closely supervised as needed.

Ages are 8 and up. New riders are welcome but will need to take 2 lessons before camp starts to become comfortable around horses as we can’t lead kids, we can only lunge them. (Kids younger than 8 who would like to ride can still do so but parents will just need to contact Kim beforehand).

We offer mini-camps for the younger children by appointment, especially if their parents can lead them.

We will also continue to offer private and group lessons.

Prices for new students:

Private Lessons: $55.00/hour | $45.00/ ½ hour

Semi-private Lessons: $45.00/hour

Group of 3 to 4: $40.00

*4H kids stay at last year’s rates.

Unfortunately, parents cannot stay and watch lessons if the barn is busy. Currently, we can only have 10 people at one time under current guidelines. As that number changes, pricing may decrease and rules can be relaxed.

Our mission is to provide a safe and welcoming environment for children of all ages to explore their interest in horses.

For those who become a member of our horse barn community, we focus on building not only riding skills, but life skills, self-esteem and confidence through interactions with horses and experiencing our farm as a whole.

We offer a wide variety of camps and lesson packages throughout the year. As well as other interesting activities and the ability to customize!

Camps are offered on a weekly basis (every week) throughout the summer to kids ages 5-7 and 8-16.
Special camps sessions may be arranged for younger equestrians as well as more advanced riders who wish to participate in shows or Drill Team. Campers have a full horse experience including grooming, tacking up and feeding.

The after school program gives kids the opportunity to come to the barn straight from school several days per week.  Students can also sign up for an afterschool program through the Hinesburg Rec Dept. Monday thru Friday many children ride the bus from school to the barn for an afternoon of riding and horse interaction.
