Summer Horse Camp – Celebrating Our 25th Year!

camp1Summer camps are offered on a weekly basis Monday-Friday 8am-12pm or 8am-4pm beginning at the end of June going through August (every week during this time). All camps are run by Kim and assisted by qualified staff.

Our camp philosophy is “learning by doing.” The campers are encouraged to do their very best while feeling comfortable in a safe and non-competitive environment.

Youth will learn the basics of horse care including how to groom, feed, lead and manage on foot as well as how to ride and show and apply basic horse first aid. Students will develop responsibility, time management and cooperation skills and confidence all while having fun with horses!

Campers have the opportunity to participate in other activities that are offered throughout the summer including horse lectures and demonstrations, special clinics, games on horseback, crafts, weekend shows, stable management, 4th of July parade, yoga, and drill team.

Older experienced children may learn to assist in training ponies, we also have a mini horse that all children enjoy leading around.

NEW in 2018: Smaller camps this year will ensure more riding time and more hands on horse experience for each camper!

Camp Options

For younger riders in addition to riding we offer supervised activities throughout the day to keep the children engaged, excited and safe.
Older riders will have more riding time and more responsibility for managing and caring for their “horse of the day”. For an additional charge an extended day is an option for this age group.

Teens who feel that they are too old for camp and would like to lend a responsible hand can join our Working Student Program. Ask Kim for details.

This option allows the teen to be here for the day enjoying all the barn has to offer while under adult supervision. They will help out around the barn and assist younger riders while learning teamwork and responsibility. They will have a horse to care for during the day and a lesson on that horse after younger campers have left.

This program also offers the opportunity for teens to prepare for and participate in horse shows.”
